As a photographer, I focus on storytelling through my lens. Whether I am capturing a landscape, a person, or an event, I strive to create a visual narrative that is both captivating and authentic. Follow my insight to photography and see why my approach sets me apart. Here are some of my favourites, please enjoy!!

I photographed  this spectacular  "early morning view" at Gonzalez Bay, Victoria. Notice  the onlooker relaxing on a deckchair enjoying the sunrise, and if you look closely you can also see the huge container- ship in the far distance.

I have always loved the result of shooting a macro photograph. The details brought out by  the camera  are amazing, unbeknownst to the naked eye! This a honey bee extracting pollen on the flower of a blackberry bush in Central Saanich.

The woman in this photo has always intrigued me. Taken at the Moss Street Paint- In, I watched her  contemplate whether to buy or just move on, or just look 'sophisticated'!

Telegraph Cove is a beautiful location on Vancouver Island that offers the perfect backdrop for photography. Located just a 30-minute drive south from Port McNeill, it is nestled in an area known for its stunning views of wildlife, whales and small islands , highlighted by a backdrop of mountains. An old cannery converted into a resort draws a multitude of tourists who book rustic accomodations looking to witness and experience sport fishing, watching Orcas, Sea Lions, Dolphins, Humpback whales and other wildlife up close and personal. Many come just for the exhilarating kayaking. Capture your special moments in this breathtaking setting! Prince of Whales is a popular tour for whale watching.

Parkbeg, Saskatchewan

If you're looking for the perfect location for your next photography shoot, consider Parkbeg, Saskatchewan, located 58km west from Moose Jaw. This small town on the Trans Canada Highway No. 1 offers a vast prairie vista that is sure to take your breath away. During my visit, I stopped by a small burger stand and met some of the friendly locals. With its humble beginnings and authentic charm, Parkbeg is an ideal location for capturing the beauty of rural Saskatchewan through photography. This old house was built in 1904.

I'm excited to share my photography of a delightful burger stand located in a Saskatchewan ghost town. This charming spot serves up a tasty cheeseburger and pop combo for just $5, and the friendly couple who run it made it a memorable experience. I tried to capture the spirit of this small community and the welcoming personalities of the stand's proprietors. Come see for yourself and grab a bite to eat!

Taken from the top of The Malahat, very early in the morning!  The sky is so much more attractive to photograph before the sun rises up, exhibiting glorious colours and soft pastels.,  A small bit of advice , if you want the glorious colours and mystical  overall feel, get to your location one hour BEFORE the sun comes up.

Contemplating  the meaning of life on a BC Ferry? I have always wondered about the type of person that constantly complains about how boring the ferry ride is , that there is nothing to do, and how awful the food tastes! Well I personally have traveled on the BC Ferries many times for work,  ate everytime, and enjoyed myself immensly  every trip, I find myself blessed in having the opportunity  to ride on a ship to where I live.
.....and for all you food critics?  You tells us a better way in cooking and preparing food for 400 people or more , who all arrive at once  ( if you do not like the food, you should have tasted it in the 70s, except for the  legendary clam chowder!)

I actually grew this sunflower on my front deck. I never even thought that when I planted this tiny seed, it would literaly explode to a 9ft monster!

Goldstream Park.....This was taken during the late October salmon run. This curious bird was probably checking the multitude of fish swimming about under water.

Shawnigan Lake, Vancouver Island BC

I laughed so hard when I saw this barn in the southern part of the prairies! I wonder which province collects the taxes?

In the Rocky Mountains the many streams and rivers all possess that glorious blue-green sheen ,indicative of the glacier they originate from. "Magic" colour to my eye!

This mural located in Rock Bay, Victoria caught my eye while driving by. As I positioned for a precise shot  of this painting, a motorcycle photo-bombed the shot but certainly added to the shot! Of course I added an effect (mirror imaging).

I took this photograph inside the Vogue Theatre in Vancouver, using mirror effects. The awesome featured band playing is Uriah Heep, and they were outstanding, plus nice & LOUD. I also witnessed the chaos on Granville Street after the concert concert finished,  crowds emptying into the streets, But all in all , it was a overall good experience. It was also a good time to see my son again, who to my surprise bought the tickets, and actually had heard of this "progressive rock'' 60's band    and thoroughly enjoyed the performance with his dad! (I can easily say...."it stirred and brought back a lot of good memories").....sniff, sniff

Taken at a fast food outlet, I could not resist taking a photo with my GoPro of this character seated to the left, enjoying his "senior's brew" and contemplating whether to watch the documentary Woodstock again!

I finally discovered the correct way of taking a photo of the moon, after many many ill-fated attempts! Number 0ne- use a tripod, close down your aperture (f11) and use around 100th per secong  shutter speed (personal preference for more or less ) I'll share some trick advice from top pro-photographers -shoot the moon  before it gets dark, and photoshop the blue background to black, and you will have a very sharp photo! (having a top notch hi-end camera also helps!) This is not Iphone material!

Swiftsure Race 2023- a beautiful day, light winds, decorated by dazzling views. Unfortunately the entry numbers have dropped dramatically, not even coming close to the hundreds of sailboats that have entered and raced on this day. In the 70s & 80s the causeway in front of the Empress was jammed with crowds of people on Friday & Sunday evenings, sporting captain hats and blue blazers. Everyone was a  sailor on those days!....sigh.....those days are gone!..What happened? It has dropped from an internationel world class event to a boring sailing contest with entries mostly from Victoria!  Ill speculate and venture a guess that the bureaucrats and city counsellors had a direct hand in stifling this world reknown event!

This is still one of my favourite photos (portrait). I caught her at a most 'natural' relaxed moment, no hint of a fake, forced smile or turning to her 'favourite' side or worse - telling me how to photograph her.... this shot was taken at Chesterman Beach near Tofino at a women's Surfing contest called, Queen of the Peak. One glowing beautiful lady!
